Danny Trejo Battles Undead Outlaws Dead Again in Tombstone

Dead Again in Tombstone (Video 2017) Poster

Actually, undead again

Colonel Boomer (Jake Busey) suspects that Guerrero (Danny Trejo) knows where a book near blackness magic rituals is subconscious. He threatens to kill his family, consisting of daughter Alicia (Elysia Rotaru) and grandma (Michelle Rios, much besides young for the role and therefore covered with ridiculous brand-upwards) if Guerrero doesn't tell him the hiding place. Now Guerrero is undead since his pact with the devil in part 1 and comes back several times from the dead. How can Boomer bargain with a man he cannot kill, how can Guerrero save his family, and what does the magic volume really practice?

The start motion picture was a horror movie in the disguise of a western, but the sequel - autonomously from the MacGuffin, the magic book - is a much more traditional western most protecting your family against gunfighters (even if some of them are zombies). The technical qualities are good. For example the scene when Boomer blows up a stagecoach and at the same time, Guerrero is defenseless in an explosive trap in the town, the two explosions are cutting parallel to each other, really elegant editing yous hardly ever see in cheap movies. If I voted 1 notch below for the sequel (6 of 10 after seven of 10 for the first movie) it's considering 'Dead Again' lacks a villain of Mickey Rourke'southward caliber. Otherwise it is a satisfactory variation of the 'Undead Gunman' theme.

Rough Western, but Entertaining

Col Jackson Boomer (Jake Busey) badgers Guerrero (Danny Trejo) to give upwardly the Bone Box (that contains The Devil'due south Bible, which will insure he has immense power over the entire earth). Guerrero has come back from the Dead as Lucifer has him under control, simply he claims he has no idea where the box is or what information technology is.

This is a somewhat supernatural western story and nosotros volition see a lot of shooting, blood squirting hither and there and numerous explosions…..and oh, yes, a coming back from the dead besides. Supernatural, remember?

In time, the Devil's Bible is given to Col Jackson Boomer, merely something is wrong. It is not enough and Jackson figures this out. Something is missing. What could it be?

We run across Jackson Boomer hanging out in the brothel run past Madame Du Vere (Elizabeth Lavender) and nosotros also see naked girls making out with customers and with each other, also. Guerrero tries to re- found himself with his estranged daughter Alicia (Elysia Rotaru) and his mother Zerelda De La Cruz (Michelle Rios) who tells Guerrero he must protect the bone box. Subsequently, nosotros see that his female parent is quite handy with a gun besides.

The acting is adept all around, the music is expert, the gun fights are well choreographed, simply the cinematography is awesome and well-nigh a piece of work of art on their ain. Kudos.

Notable: Dean McDermott equally Dr Goldsworthy who we suspect is something more than homo and he tries to have Guerrero reject Lucifer's concord on him. Supernatural, call back?

This is no holds barred western and is quite crude, but very entertaining. (7/10)

Violence: Yep. Sex: No.. Nudity: Yeah. Language: Yes.

Some things should stay expressionless

In that location simply shouldn't accept been a sequel. The interim is horrible, the script is terrible and the shoot outs are awful.

Messy sequel

I only idea that the original "Dead in Tombstone" was just okay, but I decided to give this sequel a chance, given my dearest for westerns and for the fact that Danny Trejo was returning. Nearly probable yous'll find this sequel a few notches below whatsoever y'all thought of the first moving picture, equally I did. I acknowledge that the movie looks pretty slick for the almost part, though some interior scenes are either severely underlit or overlit, and at that place is some very unconvincing CGI blood and gore. Simply the script is kind of a mess. At that place are a number of plot points that are either vague or unexplained at all, and the effect is that there is a feeling that the filmmakers were making things up as they went forth. The sorry and clumsy script may explain why stars Danny Trejo and Jake Busey seem to exist going on autopilot instead of delivering their lines with confidence and true menace. As for the action sequences, it comes across every bit standard stuff at best, non directed or choreographed in a manner that grabs your attention. The movie is not dull, I admit, but all the aforementioned it's quite unsatisfying to lookout.

Awful!

Later the first shootout where Danny's vi-shot guns never ran out of bullets, I quit. Don't waste your time, they sure wasted a lot of coin on this stupid movie.

Terrible film.

I gave this 2 stars only because I like Danny merely he can practice WAY better than this. This picture was bad in so many ways that it's pointless to elaborate. Please Danny ... don't make any more movies like this. I would love to see you make more serious action/adventure films and dramatic roles as well. You are better than this ese.

And the horse you rode in on

Warning: Spoilers

This is the much awaited sequel to "Expressionless in Tombstone." Oh how practise they come with such clever names? If you missed the first film, you can pick upward of the gist of it early on on. Guerrero (Danny Trejo) is dorsum from the dead, killing for the devil. There is no bike, no flaming skull head, and all-time of all, no Nicklaus Cage. Colonel Jackson Boomer (Jake Busey) a former Amalgamated officer leads a band on men into town (which is not Tombstone BTW) wanting to get "the box" that will unleash satanic powers and save his life. He also has the help of the local madam (Elizabeth Lavander).

And then now we get the backstory, not knowing at that place was a backstory. It is the same shoot 'em upwards, slow motion swagger, "I'grand not dead yet" type of stuff nosotros see in most action films. Plot is directly forward and kind of makes you wonder which side is the devil on? Only Busey explains that in a sober moment.

Guide: F-discussion. Implied sexual practice. Nudity (Elizabeth Lavender, Gwyn Auger +uncredited)

Dead once again? Undead again is more like it...

This was actually a surprisingly nice moving-picture show! Especially when taking into consideration the synopsis for the movie, and the fact that it has Danny Trejo and Jake Busey starring in it.

I will say that both Danny Trejo and Jake Busey were performing quite well in "Dead Again in Tombstone". And they were nicely cast for the 2 roles.

The storyline was rather entertaining as information technology was a classic western, spiced upwardly with some supernatural elements. And there was besides lots of activity throughout the moving-picture show. So what's non to similar?

Certain, this is not a major Hollywood blockbuster, but it definitely was a surprisingly prissy movie. Sure, I didn't take much of whatever expectations to begin with, so I was easily surprised.

I found "Dead Once more in Tombstone" to exist entertaining and enjoyable, and I can definitely recommend it if you lot like watching movies with Danny Trejo in it.

If Y'all Enjoy Spagetti Westerns and Danny Trejo, Cull This

If you relish spaghetti westerns (just not made in Italian republic or Spain), yous'll enjoy "Dead Again in Tombstone." If you enjoy spaghetti westerns with supernatural overtones you lot'll enjoy "Dead Again in Tombstone." If you lot're a Danny Trejo fan y'all'll Really savor "Dead Once again in Tombstone." Like Italian westerns, the film serves up plenty of action, and there are no heroes. Some reviewers assert that Trejo tin can't act. They don't realize that Trejo, may he be a skilful or bad actor, is more than that. He is a force of nature. Every scene he's in, your optics are on him. Jake Busey as the baddest of the bad guys is excellent every bit a "Southern Gentleman" and ex-amalgamated soldier.

"Well, some men are more dead than others."

Warning: Spoilers

Here'southward something to remember most - the title is "Dead Again in Tombstone", simply all the activeness takes place in Silver River. "Dead Again in Silvery River" doesn't quite cut it though, and then I gauge you tin can overlook the discrepancy. At least Tombstone showed up on a road sign pointing in the opposite direction from Silver River.

Human, this Danny Trejo doesn't terminate making pictures. If you look at his cast credits here on IMDb, he's got more than than two dozen going in diverse stages of production that haven't been released yet. The guy is in his mid-Seventies! I was taken with Trejo's wait the first time I ever saw him, can't call back which picture, but he's e'er a blast. It's somewhat hard to figure what Trejo's character Guerrero is in this picture - ghost, zombie, resurrected human? Information technology only adds to the mystery of his persona. No mystery about Jake Busey'southward character though. Jackson Boomer is just an out and out badass willing to cut down anyone in his way. No mistaking his wait either, he's the spittin' image of his father at around the same age.

The original "Dead in Tombstone" had more demonic elements in it, and Mickey Rourke's presence added a bit more spark to the proceedings, but this was almost on the same level with the grim and gritty. And the Devil's Book subconscious away in the Bone Box had a mystique to it, perhaps more so in the telling than in the execution. What I thought was kind of interesting at the finale was the way Guerrero's girl Alicia (Elysia Rotaru) gave new meaning to the term 'horny' when she used the one-time Match Horn on Boomer after the hatchet chore she did on Madame Du Vere (Elizabeth Lavender). The girl could hold her ain.

Possibly the best, too as the almost ironic line in the film: Alicia to Guerrero - "Didn't we bury this horse?" I recall the horse should have gotten a screen credit.

Not as good equally the start, but visually stunning and very entertaining.

Here we go again! Danny Trejo returns as Guerrero for another round of killings. This time the antagonist is Jackson Boomer (Jake Busey). He was a friend of Guerrero's stepbrother and is at present in pursuit of a box containing a book that will give him incredible power.

The moving picture follows on the events of 'Dead in Tombstone'. Nosotros learn more about Guerrero'southward family and meet his daughter and mother, and also realize there was a reason the Devil made a bargain with him in the kickoff film. With Roel Reine returning as manager, this is another visually stunning treat - visually even better than the original film. The cinematography is STUNNING. The photography and aerial shots are FANTASTIC. There are some films I'll watch again and again for the sake of the cinematography - and this is such a film. It'due south one amazing shot later on the next. Some shots are breathtakingly beautiful. It's the blazon of photography you wait from big budget productions.

Merely similar 'Dead in Tombstone', 'Expressionless again in Tombstone' is fast-paced and filled with activity, take chances, suspense, gore, fantasy, and there's that swell score again. Every bit the film progressed, it became more intense with incredible scenes. The carriage chase sequence was stunningly well done. The final act is very supernatural and fantastical, but the film nevertheless remained interesting and exciting. It might not be as good as the original film, but this was good in its own right. I certainly was entertained!

Would I spotter it again? Yes.

Meh!

The first moving-picture show, Dead in Tombstone, was fairly okay. Non smashing but okay. This movie, the second installment, was a flake of a disappointment though. The general idea is a practiced one. At least information technology is 1 I would generally accept liked. However, it is really poorly implemented.

Danny is supposed to be the devil'due south servant imbued with supernatural powers and supposed to boot some serious donkey. You know, a bit like Ghost Rider in the sometime due west. Unfortunately he is zippo but. Nigh of the time he is roaming around sulking and trying to patch things upward with his girl.

He is really not showing much in terms of terrifying presence or supernatural powers. Whenever he springs into activity he is but blundering in shooting at everything that moves and usually he gets shot up and "dies" in the process. Afterwards he become'southward revived and the process starts all over again.

Towards the end of the flick nosotros finally become some supernatural action merely it is really too late to save information technology and not really that impressive to begin with.

On the whole the script is pretty bland and unconvincing. It is more suitable for a TV-show episode than a feature movie.

Really a shame. I generally similar Danny Trejo when he is playing bad ass.

Trejo kicks behind and that really is what y'all are here for

Danny Trejo returns once again every bit the western outlaw Guerrero. The movie opens meliorate than the first 1 did which I similar. It is much more ominous and feels like they are discussing a fable. A mysterious and bloody cowboy rides into town and walks into a saloon and tells the story of Guerrero de la Cruz and what he does. Perfect execution there.

Guerrero is still doing the Devil's work by sending the damned to hell. Strangely the Devil is not e'er seen in this movie in any real grade. It is a existent disappointment because Mickey Rourke was pretty proficient in the first one. He is talked about a lot, but yous never see him. Not fifty-fifty a flashback clip. This film is sorely missing the presence of Mickey Rourke as the Devil. He was menacing and dark and a good foil for Trejo.

Dead Once again in Tombstone as well rehabs Guerrero past making him a dark good guy who was tricked by the Devil. I find fighting for your soul much more interesting than existence God's hitman. Then again, I guess if you lot cannot get the role player that played the Devil in the last pic you need to do something that takes the character out of the narrative.

While Trejo was a little more tough here, I am bothered that they made him work for God. Information technology is a serious rehab that could have been left for a third film rather than the second. It would have been meliorate to have him fight the Devil's mechanizations than to have been tricked. I think it steers the film towards those boring Pureflix movies. If the reason for this was indeed the loss of Mickey Rourke in the role and so ship some other demon to do his bidding equally a middleman.

Jake Busey is pretty good as the villainous Jackson Boomer. He plays him as a footling chip of a cocky jerk which is more or less how he plays nigh of his characters. Boomer is very much a Southern gentleman hither of former-manner Westerns merely also very evil. He apparently learned of the bone box that is the focus of everything before the beginning of the motion picture from Guerrero's half-blood brother Red Cavanaugh. From my perspective in that location was implied supernatural knowledge by Red in the opening scenes of the original, but nothing ever came of that. It felt similar Boomer was tossed in at the last minute because they could non get Hall to testify up. I think if they had waived a trivial bit more than money in the face of Anthony Michael Hall he could have been brought back, and we could have had another showdown between Trejo and Kavanaugh.

Mother de la Cruz (Michelle Rios), Guerrero's mother, looks younger than Trejo. Something about her just did not wait older than Trejo. Elysia Rotaru equally the daughter Alicia was not too bad. She was a tough graphic symbol and gave every bit skilful equally Trejo.

Guerrero gets some assist this time from Dr. Goldsworthy (Dean McDermott) who resurrects him when he gets killed by Boomer. Boomer joins forces with a local brothel owner named Madame Du Vere (Elizabeth Lavander). That alliance forth with this adult female's ability to "run into the truth" feels a little out of left field. It just happened. Even more than awkward was that this prostitute seemed to abruptly get the arch nemesis of Guerrero's daughter. She had a few bad things to say about Alicia just nothing suggesting they would punch it out in the terminate.

I depict issue with the interior shots which were very dark. Night or day it was hard to see. Go some lighting in there. We have a little unrealistic lighting in moving-picture show just ordinarily in the management of seeing better. I am not sure if Reiné felt that serious darkness added authenticity or the lighting guy quit before those scenes were done.

The story is not too bad but a niggling disjointed. Some of the events experience fabricated upwards equally they went along as if they could not film what they wanted but withal had to do something since the cameras were there. The acting is better than yous would expect from a direct video release. Trejo once again is great equally a Western tough guy. But then again Danny Trejo is ever good.

Dead Again in Tombstone is a decent supernatural Western. It is not Academy Award material, but it is non a complete waste. They play upwardly the supernatural elements a scrap more here than in the concluding pic which is good, but we are missing Mickey Rourke which is not so expert. Enjoyable but far from perfect.

Lilliputian Danny Trejo... to little, to belatedly

At a mere five'6 inches tall and 73 years old, Danny maybe able to scare someone at the nursing home while playing a board game, but please, a western? Never in a meg years is he going to convince he could exist a real cowboy.

Information technology could be that someone besides idea If they dressed him in black, he could pass for a western bad guy.

I closing I will say, this film is only something to scout if y'all are bored out of your heed..

Tries so hard

I so wanted to similar this pic and in some parts it does deliver, there is an excellent stagecoach sequence when the villains are in "hot pursuit". Danny Trego is OK in the atomic number 82 only I experience he just cannot accept plenty talent to carry the film through on his own. The plot is discussed elsewhere but the mixture of a western and the supernatural is always interesting and every bit I said some sequences are rather well done and some of the landscapes are very impressive. The problem is a weak script and the major "downer" for the entire movie is Jake Busey, he may have inherited his male parent's looks but certainly none of his acting talent. His operation is ane of the worst I accept ever seen in a movie and has to be seen and heard to believe such bad acting is possible. A shame because the film is a valiant attempt and let down past the 2d atomic number 82.

Just equally much fun as the kickoff film & it'southward great to have Danny Trejo back Guerrero!!!

The chilly & common cold ruggedness of the grim Wild Due west is back for this Absurd sequel of the Cult hit favourite, which i liked equally information technology's got a real stark grim look of those harsh times & dorsum with the bleakness is the excellent Danny Trejo as Guerrero, who is by now a Mythical warrior of vengeance & Trejo is Awesome over again.

Some other B-movie star JAKE BUSEY (Starship Troopers) makes for a really slimy & nasty villain for Guerrero to go upwardly against as Jackson Boomer & Busey who is in and then many Direct-to-dvd films starred in another Good Trejo moving picture called REAPER, well worth checking out. Busey is have fun playing this evi leader of a gang who wants a subconscious treasure that is a powerful ancient former book, the book of the dead, that will heal him & requite his powers to control the dead & the living and then a typical movie villain matter to want simply it'southward fun.

With this sequel nosotros get to know Guerrero more than & see his family & we become more a sense of his character here & that he's not a totally evil guy & we similar him more than so.

Trejo is such a good actor that his lines throughout the whole moving-picture show feel so natural like information technology's what you would say & doesn't fifty-fifty experience scripted & i loved him even more than so for that as his Guerrero felt real & natural even in this fantasy world. Trejo brings his natural rugged charm to Guerrero over again & as said i felt more for him here as a man & a human even though the devil still commands him. I did miss Mickey Rourke equally the devil from the outset motion-picture show every bit he wasn't here but the film still was decent & hey i liked Jake Busey equally the bad guy more hither than that of Anthony Michael Hall in the first and then both have their better bits & non so good bits. The usual big shootouts without always reloading is back over again merely that'due south usual for a low-budget B-picture show anyway especially a cheap Western.

Although a low-budget motion picture the old western town looks smashing as it did in the outset motion-picture show, so the production is very expert & the music is often moody or frantic depending on the scene & usually works fine. I really similar these "Tombstone" films more than than Trejo's "Machete" films because these are more serious & gritty adventures without the over silliness & comical moments that his "Machete" films are known for, i like the more than natural catamenia of these films every bit grim 'n' gritty Supernatural Westerns with a few laughs sprinkled throughout but not over-the-top silliness.

There is some decent action that is similar in fashion to the kickoff film only i did like the Magical Book mythology here that is steeped in former evil rituals & satanic cults & devil worshippers & stuff & even zombies!!!! That was all fun & interesting. This Awesome Avenger Guerrero should have his ain franchise of films but i know Trejo now is in his tardily 70's so I'm just thankful & grateful that i take two Awesome Expressionless in Tombstone films to cherish & Trejo is now a Legend, a hero of Cult Cinema & all round well known nice guy who cherishes what he does & i love the happy energy he gives in his interviews as you tin feel how happy he is to be an actor & how lucky he knows he is to here doing this!!! Trejo is a Jewel of an actor & a fantastic screen presence & i actually recollect this sequel "Dead Again In Tombstone" is my favourite of his pb-starring films. Guerrero is definitely my favourite Trejo graphic symbol followed by "Machete" of course. Yep a whole franchise could be congenital around Guerrero considering he's such a Absurd Bad-Ass Character.

So Dead again in Tombstone is an Crawly sequel with a more than Mythical Danny Trejo equally Guerrero & with an even more Supernatural & Exciting storyline, so enjoy.

Both "Tombstones" are Crawly flicks & both as good as each other in their ain ways but this sequel is slightly meliorate in my opinion.

Why is it that bad of acting?

Seriously why is information technology that bad of acting every time he star in information technology? Is it on purpose? It feels this is on purpose because past now it is getting to exist obvious, I mean Arnold is doing way better with his movies since "Terminator" he has definitely improved through the years just Danny Trejo seems to never amend. I really like him and his characters just he is killing me with his interim.

What Did I Only Watch?

This comes off like the script was written in a single, drunken sitting. It has a decent concept, just the execution is as bad as the ane.to which Delacroix was.subjected in The Green Mile. Horrible acting (I'grand looking at your hopeless, stereotypical "southern gentleman" accent Busey). Not even a fun popcorn motion-picture show every bit y'all'll find your mind drifting.

Wow. Another moving-picture show that sucks and blows

Warning: Spoilers

Information technology'south unfathomable that these kind of horribly cringeworthy movies become made. Eye rolling, vomit induced writing, dialogue that even Helen Keller would detest, overused boring motion tropes, directing out of bad westerns 101, the continuity of a passing lane's yellow broken lines and for the most role, wasted actors (meaning they were probably wasted when they signed on to this). The offset Expressionless Again chapter that this sequel follows wasn't that much better but at least it didn't make me desire to go to the bath every bit much as this turd. Everyone thinks they're a screenwriter, anybody thinks because they've gone to a film form that they can make a good movie. Well, anyone can break eggs, only not anyone tin can cook them to where you desire to eat them. Another Netflix caused trash. They should have called it Brain Dead Again in Hit in the Headstones. Oh, and the title? It doesn't fifty-fifty take place in Tombstone. Figure that ane out. And don't forget to throw in some living dead, who don't really brand much effort, a Madame trying hard to be similar Doc Vacation'due south bowwow and other tropes stirred in, including a buffalo for like a infinitesimal, (I judge figuring they needed something for Danny Trejo to ride into town on when his horse is blown upwardly), never running out of bullets guns and rifles that miss their close range targets more than Stevie Wonder would, some sort of doctor who may exist an angel inserted in an attempt to create redemption, and more plot points than at a cemetery. I don't what made me sicker, the money they spent to brand it, or that I watched it.

review

Warning: Spoilers

haven't seen the first flick, just started and watched this 1, i liked the story and it contained some cute shots, a chip too much frog perspective if you ask me. Also i think the pacing of the edit is mode also deadening!!! which makes the movie wearisome to watch...

adjacent to that, at that place was a lot of gunfire and not a lot of evading or hiding, combined with bullet bear upon shots. (then i mean not just people going down, but bullets hitting the wooden stuff)

Costuming looked great, and so were the practical effects! Danny Trejo seemed a chip wearisome in both motion and interim just that might be the edit (not certain).

Therefore i charge per unit this picture a three/10

Hilarious

The plot is difficult to follow at best, and the physics make no sense. However, watch this movie and savor information technology for what it is. An absolutely hilarious compilation of what is happening moments. From the unlimited ammo to the explosions and the flying bodies, this moving picture had me laughing the whole way. I love how random and well-nigh off the cuff the entire thing is. Overall if yous want a serious movie this isn't it, merely if you desire to take a good fourth dimension watching an inhuman force destroy evil, this is the movie for you.
